I'm in the same boat (no pun intended but certainly welcome); new to sailing, older boat, looking at the rigging. One thing that I've come across repeatedly is to measure but not trust. Use the specifications that you've fopund for budget purposes but dont bey any standing rigging without stepping the mast and checking for fit, then dropping it and measuring the old. You never know when somebody replaced a chainplate or mast on these peviously loved boats. Mine's a 1975 25' Lancer.
