new to sailing own a 1979 catilina 25

I am new to sailing and am in need of advice on maintenance of my new to me sailboat. I have been out and she sails like a dream. I know I have to replace the windows which I can do. I also need to replace the compass.
1. what is a good replacement compass for this boat?
2. what do I need to look for maintain as general maintenance?
3. does any one have a pdf for care ownership manual?
any help would be greatly appreciated.

Stu always has the right links: Catalina 25 association is the whereto-be location for that boat. Plastimo is the compass if I recall correctly, assuming it is in the bulkhead. Check specs for the incline it can be installed on.

The Plastimo Contest 101 is what you want. There are several variations, colors, etc.

Know you want to pick one that is built for your angled bulkhead.

Understand your existing compass is likely mounted to both the cabin top and the upper cabin liner. You may find a need to do some 'glass work to fill the void. See pics of my compass install:

This shows the filled void after packing in some West Systems epoxy mixed with colloidal silica. It isn't pretty but it WILL allow the rubber gasket on the back of the compass to compress and seal.
