Bought a 1982 CP 16 that needs work, starting with the tiller that broke the first time I put her in the water. I ordered a new one from Hutchins but it arrived unfinished. What's the best stain and waterproofing for a tiller made from ash?
I contacted Hutchins and they recommended a MinWax stain and urethane varnish. So far I have two coats of stain on it and it's looking pretty good. I start the varnish tonight if the stain looks good enough.
