new (to me) Beneteau, lots of questions

Hi all. I'm Jon. I just bought a 2008 Beneteau Oceanis 40 which I sail out of Long Beach, Ca. My previous boat was a Hunter 40. I love this new boat!!

I am getting to know it and have a few questions that i would greatly appreciate a bit of help with.

Questions:

1. There is a light in the cockpit on the port side of the companion way. It is mounted in the port wall just above the floor. I can't figure out how you turn that light on.

2. The top opening freezer has some water in it. The schematic calls out a pump somewhere that I assume pumps that water out. Where is that pump and how do you turn it on?

3. Just above the floor level on the face of the starboard settee near where the pumps are located is an orange light about an inch in diameter. What is it and how does it operate?

Fridge pump is the foot pump at the base of the sink that is next to fridge

On questions 1&3 they are controlled by a remote keyfob on my 423. I suspect the same holds tries for your 40.

Thanks for the info. The stack of manuals that came with the boat included operating instructions for that device so I will find it this weekend.

The freezer/refrigerator drain pump switch (silver push button) is located next to the stove top on the right hand side.

The key fab controls both the light in the cockpit, as well as, the orange light below. It should have been included with the boat along with the keys, etc...

Thanks for the info. I contacted the previous owner and he is sending the remote. I'll look for the silver button this weekend.

One more question. There is a silver button in the head on the face of the sink cabinet. When I press it a motor runs. What does it do?

how to add a new remote to the aqua signal control

My boat has the aqua signal remote for the deck light and I had to replace the remote. Does anyone know how to program a new remote? I don't have instructions.

Instructions should have come with the new remote. You can probably do a web search as well.

Tried web searches, no luck but finally found the instructions folded in the back of a manual.
