New Stickers

I thought I would try my hand at recreating the MacGregor stickers on 'Ohana. The originals were faded to pure white. I took a few measurements and created a file. I converted it to a PDF and sent it to Kinkos to have them create stickers. They had a 2" minimum so I knew I would have to cut some off when they came.

I don't think this was the best place to send them for printing but this was just to see what I would end up with. The stickers are vinyl so I hope they last a couple years.

Here's the finished look. I missed the hight by a little but it's close enough for government work.

I'm not overly impressed but I guess it's better than what was there.

Looks good to me. I wonder if BWY's have the factory ones? MacGregor used to have them.

If you ever wanna have them done on real high quality vinyl and cut to the exact right size I have a sticker place that I use for my business that does really good work and is very reasonable. I wouldn't mind a set myself, as mine are faded to nothing as well.

It has come up before, but you could ask MacGregor for a set. I called and they sent me enough for the boat and trailer no charge. It has been a few years though.
Those look good by the way.

I have a buddy (Tony) that makes signs. I called him last week and had stickers made up for my car. UV vinyl so it won't shrink or curl. (Important!)
I'm sure he could make MacGregor stickers and mail them out. His site; http://www.whydesign.ca/
Here is a photo of my car. I'm happy with the vinyl. (White) But not so happy with the way the black paint turned out. (I plan to replace the badges with the correct ones in the spring after touch up paint.)
They do look 100 times better than what was there.

I recieved my new stickers from BWY. For those who have replaced the old ones, did you remove the old ones or just go over the old ones.

For my cheapies, I went over the old. I thought I would see how long the color lasted before I out any labor into it

I did not like the Mac stickers and bought the newer "M" style mounted on plexi to replace the old ratty stickers. I intend to mount them where the old stickers were. Got them from BWY.

Oh. I thought the picture was what they looked like before you replaced them, and I thought "that hasn't faded much at all -- what's he talkin' about?)

That looks really good, and it obviously fooled me at first glance -- not that that's so hard to do, you understand....;)

Before I put these on, you wouldn't have seen the old ones unless you were within a couple feet They were faded to white and blended into the white of the boat.

I had 4 made and used 2. I hoped to use the others on the trailer but I really don't have the ambition to do much with the trailer. What would it cost to have someone sand blast that trailer? It's steel and I can tell you, it would be next to impossible to get through the rust otherwise.
