Does anyone know if you can use an older Raytheon radar (SL70-Monochrome) with the new split screen chartplotters? I'm looking to upgrade my older garmin unit and I'd like to combine my radar and gps/chartplotter onto one screen.
I think it depends on the serial numbers whether you can even use an older radar with a newer Raymarine. This sounds unlikely but call Garmin and see what they say.
Bob- The units will talk to each other via nema, but you wont be able to have an overlay from or onto each other unit. Truly just a data transfer. SL70's were called 'stand alone" units, priced at 1200 to 1500, designed for the guy that wanted just radar.
