New Slip

With some luck, this will be a temporary location while my old marina (had been there since 1978) renovates our slips.. I am hoping to be back in the Bayou before hurricane season because this location is a lot more exposed .. Closer to the Mississippi Gulf Islands, so I am hoping to get at least one run out there while I am in Slidell.. Location is right where I-10 touches the North Shore of Lake Pontchartrain.. I am really spoiled by the other place where I could park right at the slip .. made it much easier to load/unload.. Here, car is over 100 yards from slip.. Will take some planning to get stuff moved.. I have already ordered a collapsible hand truck to get the first load from the car before picking up the dock cart.. Good folks run the place..

Yes, it is Oak Harbor.. New owners call it Anchorage Marina.. Phil's Marina cafe is still serving fine shrimp ! ..

Claude, 100 yards? Omigosh, so far. So near and yet so far. Rum DO get heavy at that distance.

I've found the best deal is to buy a LOT of stuff, and then spend a whole day provisioning. Don't plan on sailing that day...

As you practice that whole 100 yards, it does get shorter...
