Has anyone had any trouble with TSW? I placed an order and it took over two months to get it and they keep saying it was on the way (through China I guess). When it did come, it was not a good time for me to get to my boat so it was another 3 weeks before I got to install my new sails. What a mess not only were they soiled but they were cut by what seemed to be some kind of chain saw. When I called them they said they were ordered that way and NO I could not return them it was over 30 days. BS over 30 days b/c they took 45 days to make them (maybe the chain saw was in the shop) I am sooooo pissed I could, well piss. Does anyone need a good throw cover for their dog house?

Do you mean The Sail Warehouse?

Did Ken have a nice flame? Does Ken feel better now? I bought a main and headsail from them and had no problems. Imagine, being out of stock on sails for one of the most popular boats ever made right in the middle of the sailing season. Go figure. My catalog states there is a lead time for sails not in stock. They do state they buy "offshore" in order to offer good prices. They can provide semi custom services. Everything is spelled out pretty good. The do offer a 15 DAY INSPECTION PERIOD. You don't exactly say how the sail fails to meet your expectations. Are they the wrong shape or size, or are you unhappy with the hemming? The best way to loose access to customer service after the standard time allowed is to make a phone call with an attitude running. Hope you don't loose a rudder.

The is the busiest time of year for sailmakers

Don't order sails in June or July if you want quick service. It just won't happen, especially if the sails aren't sitting on the shelf, already made. 6 weeks is average during low demand, 8-12 typical during peak season. TSW uses offshore manufacturers, as do most discount houses, and you'll just have to wait like everyone else. They will definitely take your money knowing they can't deliver in 4 weeks. I suggest you try CruisingDirect the next time you want good service from an internet company.

huh?

Ken, I think you are confused. I've check the records and we don't have a customer in Silver Spring by the name of Ken. We also have met every deliver quote that we have made all year and none of our delivers took 2 months. Our sails are not made in China and they are of excellent quality. Maybe you should check your invoice and see if you are mistaken on the company. sure doesnt sound like us! The Sail Warehouse

duh

Sounds like Ken got hosed alright. The place he ordered his sails from should have taken them back no questions asked. If it was not for people like us these mail order places would go out of busness. Maybe they ought to. Good luck Ken with dealing with them, and any body who gets the shaft, my advice is give it right back.*box

Hosed? That's not been my experence.

I bought a spinnacker from TSW in the March of this year and they were very helpful, patient and there were no problems. I asked in depth about the return policy and that also was no problem. After reading Jim's response (reply #5)I think something is really wrong in this posting. Maybe with less of an attack dog approach it still can be worked out. Ray

Ken? Anybody home?

This looks like a troll to me, or perhaps a disgrunted competitor. Ken, you need to get back on here and explain why TSW doesn't have a record of your purchase. What you're describing doesn't sound like the TSW I know. Without clarification I think thread may be headed to the dumpster.

Ken: I just purchased a new 150% furling head sail and a new main for my catalina last month from the sail warehouse and I could not have got better service and the sails appear to be of good quality. They were deliver when Jim said they would be. The only problem was the main came late as it was not in stock as Jim had thought, but he supply the Catalina logo and shipping free of charge to make up for his mistake. In my opinion it does not get any better than that for service. and one other thing, they look and work great.
