I just placed an order for a new main and a new 110% genoa from thesailwarehouse, and now I'm scared. This is the most money I've parted with on boat upgrades and I am a little weirded out by the experience. Anyone else ever go through something like this?

Sails

Needless to say, take care of those suckers and they'll last for years. Just think about what a power boater spends each season in smelly fuel for noisy engines. Especially at what marina fuel prices are today. I would recommend that you go through your standing rigging and make sure that you have any snag hazards addressed, I.E. cotter pins, spreaders, and such. One thing I noticed when I first got my 22 was the deteriorated vinyl covering on my lifelines. Due to the age they had gotten brittle, cracked, and very abrasive. With the way the headsail foot rides the top of the lifelines they sure would have worn out the foot on my genny fast had I not replaced them as soon as I did.

Worth every penny

I bought a main and jib for my old O'Day 20 as well as a new main and jib for my current H23 from The Sail Warehouse. They are nice sails and you are going to like the way they look and love how much better she (your boat) handles. As for the mrs... she might not be as easy to handle but it is still going to be well worth it.

got my main today

I didn't know sails were supposed to be so stiff. I guess the old sails weren't as good as I thought. The only possible problem I can see is that the slugs are a little bit smaller than the ones on the old sail. I'll have to play around with it tomorrow to see if that's going to be an issue.
