i need to. which sail makers would you recommend?
I placed an order with north sails about three weeks ago. Neil borne in louisianna is great to work with. He treated my order like it was a million dollar contract. He helped me get my measurements done right, called me back a couple of times to check on some things, and even spent a lot of time discussing sail trim, racing, cruising, etc.
I can't wait. My main, the original, is so blown out I have to use a small working jib off a 23 to get the boat to balance.
Btw, related to sails and sailing, I am knee deep into a book, "The blue book of sailing" that really is good. you can get a hard copy or a digital copy (which means u can have it on your iPad and phone for quick reference, a handy thing for a how to book) from amazon. A little scientific, a little art, and great explanations of the how's and why's of sailing and sailboats.
Lately when we have been out I have been playing with steering with just the sails. It is helping me to see proper trim and balance.
