What is the line near the cockpit floor for. It goes down a hole. Also there is a hole midship just above the water line on the port side what is that for? Finally The drain hole in the cockpit floor drains out the bottom of the boat. What keeps water from coming in? Also where can i order an owners manual? Thanks for your help.

I am thinking the line that goes down a hole is for your centerboard. As for the hole amidships, someone more familiar with your boat should answer that one. As for why water doesn't come in, your boat does not displace enough to cause that to happen. My 25 has the drain for the galley sink and ice box out the bottom of the boat.

Hope this helps.

So long as entrance to the drain is above the waterline the exit can be below water and no water will come in, seems odd but same principle as putting a straw in a drink.

Welcome to the Forum,

The thru-hull near midships and above the waterline may be a sink drain if there is a galley in your boat.

I mean no offense, but.......Perhaps a Coast Guard Auxillary course on Sailing and Seamanship would be a good first step for you. Certainly before launching your new boat learn the basic name and function of its parts, its controls, and safety on the water.

Check the DRmarine site for owners' manuals for Oday boats and specific replacement parts. Although many parts could be generic, D & R Marine has information on the brands used originally.

Best Wishes on learning to safely sail your boat and on enjoying its sailing characteristics.
