Tim,
Beaufort Yacht Sales is a dealer for them and they have both new and several used ones available . I've had an eye on a caliber since they were a 38 and I saw one at the Newport boat show. the pullman berth is attractive to the wife and they are a solid boat. There are five of them listed on the Beaufort yacht sales site, two new and three used. They sell very quickly when listed. I am less fond of the 35, they basically took the 33 and called it a 35not all that roomy. Nice boat but the 40 is a step change from the 35. The cutter rig is a great feature. Let me know if you come look at any and are in the neighborhood.

Oh yeah the original post. Pacific Seacraft is now building boats in Washington NC. For a 37 traditional boat, that is not like grandmas living room this is the boat to get. Strong as heck, good sailing, expensive but a great boat. The 34 is also a great boat but smaller.

They do look like beautiful boats. But around here, you need one that performs well in light air and points well upwind, or else you'll be motoring a lot. Which pretty much rules out a full keel (even split or cutaway). I see the PS 34 has a PHRF of 201, compared to the Cal 34 at 168, and a Sceptre 41 at 126. PHRF isn't definitive, but it's a good measure of how well a boat performs.

Hmm.... I see the Caliber 33 is 168 - might have a look at that one!

Yeah, but look at the beam on the Caliber and Sceptre and then look at the beam on the PS34. I think you'll find that these "fast" boats are much beamier, a way to add interior volume so you can hang the drapes and install the flat screen TV's. The PS is a true bluewater boat made to ride the waves really well and to surf down waves with some stability and directional control. The underbody of the caliber I think you'll find is very similar to the PS. A cutaway forefoot and a skeg hung rudder.
