I am in the middle of restoring my homemade sailboat, and while all the work has been enjoyable, there are some things I know next to nothing about. I will be rerigging the boat. All the standing rigging is stainless and in great shape, but all the running rigging needs to be replaced. I have not set the mast, so I don't know how high it will sit. Are there any general rules or formulas if given the mast and boom length? I have one mainsail, a small jib, and a storm jib. I have sailed small boats, one and two person boats. But this is different.
