Just as an FYI, I sawzalled my Axle Pin and had my local welder manufacture a new one for me for $15.

I am working from memory here ( not the most reliable way these days!) There was a piece of cord on mine- it is run thru the piece of conduit so you can run more wires. I had to run a new coax a couple of years ago. What I did was attach the new piece of coax to the cord from the top ( on deck at the mast step) you have to create enough room by digging some of the caulk that is filling the conduit- then if you remove the reading light on the bulkhead on the port side, you should find the cord. Pull the cable down and route across the top of the the storage openings.
I have 2 double wires plus the coax running up my mast. One wire for the steaming light, one for the mast head light and the coax for the antennae
Don't forget to tie another cord to the cable from the top so that you are left with a cord still in the conduit for the future

Thanks Richard but I believe the current wires are not run properly in the mast.
I tried today to remove the small cover from the base of the mast with no avail.
Next step, I'll try to identify the wires that are in the way and if i can cut them out. If not then I guess I will have to remove the mast and re-run all the wires where they should be. Any idea what the cost would be for doing something like that?
I was considering adding a radar, wind meter and deck lights anyways so at least i could take advantage of an unfortunate situation.

I finished running the new reef lines today. It took more work then I thought but I'm happy with the results. I replaced all the reef & outhaul sheaves, ran a new line and replaced anther, installed a new sail and sail cover and a few other little things. See pictures below.
The most difficult part was running the new line thought the boom. The opening closest to the mast was just large enough for the line and it made it very difficult to secure the new line to the old line. Also, fishing the line was very difficult.
