I am having difficulty locating a supplier for a replacement 4.25-Lb (1-gallon) propane tank like the one supplied with my Cat-30 (1992). If anyone knows of a supplier for a direct- replacement (with new overfill protection valve) that will fit in the tank locker, please let me know. I have the specs on the 4-lb cylinder from Worthington, if anyone needs them. Thanks Bill M, "Tsarina" Bellingham, WA

Have you checked with Seaward Products? They'd be my first guess.

specs please

I'd like those specs if you please: prim.it@bhs.bm I ordered a replacement through West Marine that supposedly work and it is too tall. Cheers

New Lid

The standard tank with the overfill protection valve is about a half inch taller than it used to be. Seward makes a new lid for the tank locker that will fit over the new valve. I didn't replace my tank, I just took it to a propane place and had it re-certified. New valve, sandblasting

Modifying your cover

I had the valve replaced on my tank too. One thing to note: you lose about 1 1/2 lbs of content due to how the new valve is configured, but it's cheaper than a replacement tank. As far as the cover goes, I simply used a router on the inside cover lining where it came in contact with the new fitting. The gasket keeps any vapors inside the box.
