After getting off the hose at the strainer with a hot air dryer, a lot of fresh water drained out. When I tried to put a tube into a gallon container of anti-freeze, the pump didn't seem to self-prime. It was working fine before. Any suggestions? Thanks.

I think pump is not self priming.

I think you are referring to your seawater pump for your air conditioning or possibly refrigerator. It is not a self priming pump so if it loses prime it will not pull the antifreeze from the jug. It is near or below the waterline so it pumps the seawater through your air conditioner or refrigeration system. You need to extend a piece of hose and elevate the end pour the antifreeze in and let air out etc. to get the pump to pick it up.

Not self-priming

The pump is not a selfpriming pump. Take the hose that leads to the pump and pour in the solution you are trying to use and then put your thumb over the end of the hose and place in the bucket of solution. Have a friend turn the pump on keeping the hose below the water and the bucket below the pump. Remove your thumb, the pump should begin to work.
