new paint job

I have a 1976 boat that I would like to paint a different color.I am going to strip the deck to recaulck all fittings so I will be painting the deck.It has a non skid surface.Any suggestions on dealing with the hairline cracks in the gelcoat and painting?

Rollable/paintable gelcoat.

Dan: A good choice for non-skid is rollable/ paintable gel coat. You can color it just like any paint. If you have REAL crack, there is a method where you scrape the cracks out with a church key and then you can fill with Marine-tex or some other type of epoxy or filler. Then you can use whatever coating you want for a non-skid finish. You may be able to find some more information about this on the Plastics & Gel Coat forum on this site.
