There have been several posts which reflected many new owners not knowing the basics of their boats systems. Location of valves, pumps etc. seems to be non existent for some of these new owners. The Hunter manuals I have seen, mostly 1980s vintage, do not do a good job of showing or explaining these systems. I would encourage anyone selling a boat make sure that the new owner is thoroughly checked out on these systems and I believe a dealer has the same obligation. Many of the new owners do not have the knowledge to ask these questions and more often than not may be intimidated by the seller/dealer. So if you are selling, please be sure to check a new owner out. The individual I bought my boat from was of great help and I have over 40 years of sailing experience, so old dogs can learn new trips.

On my 91 H28

The manuals for my 91 28' were very precise in locating the through hulls. My 320 manuals are even better! I agree with everything that you say and I believe it is every owners (old and new) to familiarize themselves with all accessable compartments in their boat. The dealer should, but not all will. My dealer did a great job of running through my boat and showing me the locations of everything when the boat was delivered. The best part of the orientation is that they didn't show me anything that I hadn't found by looking in compartments or in the manual. First RTFB (read the friggin book), look in all the compartments for it, then ask your dealer, then call Hunter and finally ask here on HOW, you will get the answer one way or the other. Regards. Manual shows where, not how

Just bought our first Hunter, 95 336. Manuals are for locating just about everything. Problem is there are very few instructions on how any thing works. Example how to release the lazy jacks while under sail. The seller demo lots of items(most of which I have forgotten). It would be nice to have manual similar to what you get in a new car . Can you buy them somewhere else? Love the boat and am learning something new every time we go out.

H33.5

Dick, I currently own a 1988H33.5; I am thinking about upgrading to a 336 vintage 1995-1996. May I ask approximately what the asking price and sales price might be on such a boat. You can e mail me at HowTwo97@aol.com Thanks in advance.---David
