Just a thought. Might think about a name the Coast Guard could reply to. Something like "Lost at Sea' might
confuse them. ( grn).

Just a real life experience with that. On an off shore sail from Beaufort SC to Cumberland Island Ga we heard a Coast Guard broadcast for a vessel in distress about 12 nm east of us (about 20 miles out to sea). We headed that direction to assist but the Coast Guard got there first. The name of the boat was "It's Going Down." Kind of confusing in the VHF transmissions. It turns out that the name was appropriate but I doubt they had time to change it to "It Went Down" All on board were sucessfully rescued by the Coast Guard - good thing they responded so quickly!

Think about what the name will sound like on the radio.

We had a buddy whose boat's name was "Island Dancer" coming back from a group sail to Panama City weather got real nasty and between the wind noise and interference it started sounding like "Man Prancer".

He has been "Man Prancer" ever since.
