New Owner of 2013 Oceanis 41

Hi, Just purchased a 3 cabin layout Oceanis 41. I would appreciate any help form other owners with a few questions.
= The owners manual is fairly basic. Any suggestions on other manual (engine, electrical,...)that are useful and if so where to get them.
= Any suggestions for a generator on the 3 cabin model? It hot down south and overnighting at anchor with the AC running is much more pleasant with temp and bugs!
= Any suggestions on dingy davits with the fold down transom. Keeping the dingy on deck covers the hatches which are intended as escape hatches if needed. On longer sails would rather not tow the dingy, so I am open to any suggestions. Any help is much appreciated!

I don't know what specific engine and other equipment you have, but for our 37 most of the other manuals could be found by a combination of google and manufacturers sites. When googling for manuals it's sometimes helpful to put "typeDF" on the end of the search string, to just get PDF files, the most likely to be the manuals themselves.

A yacht is not a Toyota. You will have to assemble the manuals for engines, pumps, refrigeration, ovens, valves, electronics, spars, sails, winches and windlasses directly from the manufacturers and build your own manual. I have two massive 3-ring binders filled with zip-closing pouches for the job.

Why do you have a 3 cabin 41? Do you really need that cabin because it took the lazarret where the genset could have fit. Your options are to refit an equipment room into the cabin space and install a properly vented, fueled and sound deadened enclosure for a genset. That will also give you some great space for all your spare gear and supplies, maybe even a shelf for all those equipment manuals you will be accumulating!

DP, I have learned that your purchase of a boat has just made you the mayor of your own personal city. You have hired yourself as the head of Finance (all things boat begin a $1,000 or 1 Boat Buck), HR (crew management), Head Public Works Engineer (Water-Electricity-Sewer), and Supply Clerk (food and beverage to maintain a happy crew), not to talk about the fun parts like mechanical and sailing. Like Gunni indicated these boats are an assemblage of many parts floating in formation. Each with their own manuals, quirks and special experiences (usually costing 1 boat buck). And while all the above jobs are yours you can also freely draw outside the lines and modify any part of the boat to make it more what you in-vision (usually involving several more boat bucks). The "Google" will become your friend. You can find all of the items you questioned there and more. No answer is the only answer in most cases. All is compromise.

+1 to jsailem. Although whoever was rebuilding a winch was suggested to Google, he never said he did. He would have found what he was looking for before he even posted.

congrats on the first of your two best days with your new boat (they say when you sell it thats a good day too) also you tube also has many how to videos on just about everything that can help you do or fix your boat

Ease up Ron, I'm just pointing out that a 3 cabin 41 means no genset. And I can definitely see where he may want one of those too!
