Hi all from sunny Aus. I'm negotiating the purchase of a C22 (we call them Boomaroos here!) and require some info on the sliding galley. None that I've looked at here have them but have a groove in the seat and a "funnel" indentation that is obviously for sink drainage. I would really appreciate some close-up photos or scanned sketches that would help me plan and construct a sliding galley for this boat. (dennop@hotmail.com) Also I plan to race this boat and will need to purchase a spinnaker. Can anyone help me with the Class measurements for same. Thanks in anticipation.

actual picture

Some time back I put a picture of my slide out galley in the 'Owners Post Pictures' area of this site. You can see the original galley, but there are no dimensions given. Go to the attached link. Good luck

A cauntion about the butane stove

I use a Kenyon Express butane stove similar to the one pictured on Noah's boat on a C-22 galley like Noah's. The heat and flames from the rear of the stove can scorch and burn the wood lip behind the stove. To avoid this, I installed a metal plate about two inches by six inches by 1/8 inch thick onto the center of the wood lib with 1/4inch spacers. The spacers allow heat to dissipate from behind the plate. Further, I installed a 3/4inch thick oak board onto the galley's flat area that holds the stove. This raises the stove's heat and flames so that they dispel from the rear more easily without heating up things behind.

OK, call me crazy...

but I do not think that cooking in the small cabin of a C22 makes sense. There are curtains, cushions and all sorts of stuff in the cabin that can burn. When you have to put metal over the wood and fiberglass (my 1986 has it)to stop it from scorching then that is a sign for me to take the cooking out to the cockpit. Just my opinion. Randy 13227
