The Vega was near the top of my short list for some time before I found this group but after lurking for some months on this board I've become convinced that this is the boat for me. Thanks to all for your thoughtful and well considered posts.

Welcome to the clan and to Vega ownership, Paul. You're right, this is a great group of people. Even though some have moved on to other boats, or parted with their Vega's and retired from sailing, they remain on the forum.

An Atlantic crossing in 2013 and a tour of Northern Europe sounds like a great adventure! Please keep us posted on the boat preparations you make for the trip.

Brian, Peter, and All,
Vega-terianism is an attitude or philosophy more than a boat, don't you think??
The Vega is a metaphor for those who value:
community
simplicity
practicality
free wheelin' ways
thrift
and above all, FUN. Lots of fun.

Hey Sheila:

I think you captured the essence of VEGAtarianism and what it means for those of us who remain teathered to this eclectic group. The opportunity to meet (in person or within the context of this forum) individuals that share similar values, interests and experiences has been extraordinary - particularly since we may not have met otherwise. I suppose this is "social networking" at its best.

Cheers - Brian
