New Orleans Festivities

APRIL 17-23 in New Orleans, some neat historical stuff and a performance by the Blue Angels .. The ships will be downtown on the River starting Tuesday and the air show will be Saturday and Sunday.. Interesting because the airshow will happen over Lake Pontchartrain close to the Lakefront airport.. Given the generally south/southeast winds, anchoring outside of the safety zone should be possible and provide great seats for the show.

Alas, We've cancelled plans to be there because of the nasty forecast for the weekend.. Susan has to work on Monday so I don't have the option of waiting 'till the wind subsides .. Anchoring out to watch would be fine with the normal south or southeast winds, but with the west and north west winds, it would be very uncomfortable to be there by the airport..
There should be great viewing from the open grassy area just west of the marina ..

I've also cancelled. Was going to go out Suday and anchor to watch the Airshow, but not in 5 foot seas.
