We sail from New Orleans to Gulfport this weekend. I saw what looks like the building of a new oil platform west of Cat Island towards Half-moon Island. What's up with that? I thought MS did not allow platforms in that area.

Hey, Chuck.. That is actually in Louisiana waters.. I haven't seen the platform yet but Half Moon and Grassy are in LA .. The state line comes out of the Pearl, kinda down the ICW, almost all teh way to teh west point of Cat then turns southeast.. I hope to see it soon!..

Yeah.. I was trying to find a location for the rig/platform in the Eighth District Local Notices to Mariners, but I can't seem to locate it.. ?? I dunno
