Just purchased a 1976 Oday 28. Boat is in very good condition but needs some updating on running rigging components. Would appreciate any input as to the best online resources.

Congratulations, lots of knowledgeable people on this site. If you don’t get answers to your questions then you may want to call Rudy from D&R Marine. He seems to be the guru on O’days and carries many parts for them.
Welcome to the SBO forums. Hydro is absolutely right. Lots of knowledge here. I'm new to contemporary sources for stuff like that too, I got my first Defender catalog in the mail yesterday, maybe try them. Others will chime in with better knowledge soon.

Most running rigging components are not specific to the boat builder. Moreover, most boat owners will choose to modernize and customize their rigs vs. replacing what the factory installed 30 years ago. There are lots of online sources for rigging components and every one that that I have tried has been excellent, except for D&R Marine. D&R has very limited choice, high prices, and are less helpful than other places. However, they are a good source for parts that are unique to particular O'Day models.
