Hello all, I am going to redo my 30 year old non skid using a high build primer and sand then the 2 part poly like the rest of my deck. . my question, I know someone has sdone this with sand instead of the micro ballons what grit did you use? i have seen many that look great around my marina but do not ever see the owners to ask them. any help would be great. thanks for your time in advance.

non skid

I just redid the nonskid on a '75 Cat 27. I tried several combinations, but the best definitely was a combination of Interlux Brightsides white (or another color), a little Interlux 333 brushing liquid mixed in, and the Interlux non-skid additive. Apply 2-3 coats and make sure you put in enough non-skid to give the surface a rather grainy look. Looks and works great and will last.

Repair or paint on non-skid

I too have a 30 yr old Cat 27, and am looking at my deck. I guess depending on the condition, is it time to paint or can you repair it? Here is a link with one option: http://www.westsystem.com/ewmag/22/nonskid.html I have a 4 inch cutout in the lid of the aft lazerette (don't ask why the guy did it, its a mystery) and am looking at trying to mold new non-skid when I repair the hole.
