new motor for my Macgregor

I need to replace 2001 mac 26 suzuki motor. Would like 20 horse power. Will existing electronics and linkage be compatible? Any Suggestions. Thanks.

2001 should be an X so 20hp is ok.

if you want to reuse the throttle controls, and all the other wiring, I'd look at another 'suzi' -but I'd verify that with your local dealer.

Let me just say that if your objective is to get that boat up on plane a 20 hp is too small and if you want to just use it for a sailing kicker, it is too big. If you are not on plane the boat can't really do more than hull speed, so, anything larger than a 10 hp is a waste of money and gas. Resp. Chief
