New wooden mast caddy setup

Getting ready to launch and have just completed my mast caddy setup.Mostly scraps {ash and cedar}and West System.Just thought I'd share these shots.Hope it is helpful. When I got it, the boat had NOTHING.I had to lash a two foot step ladder to the bow just to get her home! This will make trailering so much easier!

Hey you did an excellent job on that. I like the design.
I just did a mod on my boat today. Check out my thread in the Day Sailers forum entitled, " Mother of all mods."

This is very pretty work but your rudder mounts are going to take a beating and may not survive.
I don't think the mast crutch will be too hard on the gudgeons. His mast isn't that heavy and if worse comes to worse he could always mount a block to the crutch that could protrude over the top of the transom to take the shock of bumps on the road.
Myself, I prefer to have the mast crutch mounted on the stern rail but if your boat doesn't have a stern rail, you're kind of limited to where you can mount it.
The mast crutch on my boat is attached to my stern rail but the weight of my mast is taken up by a pipe flange mounted on the cockpit sole.

If you look closely,The rear mast caddy has a block that rests on top of the transom.I was worried about that. Thanks
