I wonder what people are making with the new CNC tools available to the DIY’r?? 3D printers, laser engravers, cnc routers, lathes and mill. The possibilities are huge.

What design tools, machine controllers... are you using??? I use CamBam as design tool and Mach3+Smooth Stepper for machine control.

Here are two projects I would not have tried without my CNC router.

A new personalized instrument panel CD wants >$160 for $3 of material. I also cut a plane panel so when I sell the boat they can change the name.

And a set of doorboards for @jssailem - just to see how hard doing inlay work is.

So post what your doing with these new tools.

As a young, dumber that dirt, 19 year old sailor, I checked in to Sub Base Pearl Harbor on a weekend. Walking around the base I noticed that all the trash cans had "Mahalo" painted on them...must be Hawaiian for trash....
Go into Pearl City and do a little shopping. Checking out the pretty young lady at the register told me "Mahalo". Gee, and I thought she was so nice.
