Dear Flor,
Thanks for your compliment. Henk is living in Mierlo, near Eindhoven. The best you can do is to e-mail him. I am not an intercedent, I only gave the e-group an address. Henk was really enthousiastic about the idea to make another ten (or so) Vega's. Zijn beroep is maquettebouwer; daarom heeft hij de knowhow en de instrumenten om dit te doen. Sorry voor het Nederlands, maar dit was gewoon makkelijker.
Ciao,
Yvonne,

I bought a new mainsail this winter from Doyle BC. Peter Jacobson is
the owner in Nanoose Bay, B.C. on Vancouver Island, and is extremely
responsive to questions and issues (even ignorant ones like mine!) I
would highly recommend him, and he has experience with Vegas. I sent
him sailing pictures the other day (I'm in Oregon, a day's drive
south, so coming on board was impractical), which he is free to share
with other customers. I went with a 6.46 ounce dacron sail, two
reefs w/floppy rings, 2 full and 2 regular battens, and a shelf foot
(bolt rope). With emblem and sail numbers, the sail was just over
$1000 plus shipping from Marblehead, Mass. Spring prices are higher,
Peter says.

The sail looks beautiful, especially compared to my 30 year old
Ratsey and Lapthorn original. I really like the full upper battens
for shape and the lower partials for ease in hoisting and dropping.
The old roller furling boom complicates things by requiring a cutback
at the tack, but this came out well. Now for new headsails (next
year). I don't have any business stake in this; I just think it's
important to recognize good service with a recommendation. You can
reach Peter at doylebc@... or check the Doyle website.
