Need to pickup kids next to new london ferry. Can I dock at new london city pier which is next to block and new london ferry and train station and pickup kids,in and out quick. Nick

Seadaddler, I bet if you hover off shore
until they are on the dock and slip in and pick them off and leave, nobody will be the wiser. But if you should tie up and wait for them somebody will probably yell at you. Just arrange some signals so that you know when they are ready. Make believe that the secret police are after them and you are slipping them out of the country.

New London pickup
New London has become much more boater-friendly over the last few years, with inexpensive transient moorings, a dinghy dock and shower and laundry facilities. It can be a little rough in there with all the goings-on with the ferries, but a quick pick-up will NOT cause you to be looked upon as smugglers. Sat is Sailfest, you probably will likely not get a mooring and definatly not a dock. Largest fireworks sponored by the casinos plus Tall Ships. Excellent time but I'd see if any of the marinas have space. Bill
