Just had my lifelines on a catalina 30 replaced with coated wire and all fittings including pelican hooks. I think I paid WAY too much($1326), what did all of you pay for someone to replace yours?

Three years ago I replaced the upper and lower lifelines on my 36' boat for a little under $500. I did reuse all the turnbuckles which saved a few dollars and I did the actual labor of installing them on the boat. The wire was bare stainless.

RiggingOnly.com did the work. I mailed the old life life to them and they built the new ones.

I'm in agreement with Jon... About right price if they do everything.
I paid $660 to have them made. I did the measurements, and installation. I bought 316 stainless wire and parts. Gates were made using dyneema (love the results. The gate just hangs down no wire twists.) and pelican hook closure. Costs were in the connecting parts. Wire and labor were not bad. Cost was from 2016.

I should add that the crew that I dealt with quoted me $1000 to do the lifeline replacement. Three months went by and they finally did the job and billed me $1726! I had to take off the starboard side myself to fix a bent stanchion so they only took off the port side and installed new. I complained about the bill and they reduced it to $1326. Never again with this crew, should of done it myself!
