There is supposed to be two hose clamps. The ones from CD are outstanding clamps.
One issue is that if you happen to have some frayed strads (Meat hooks) on the cable then they might snag the hose. The lifting power of the winch is high. A small child can winch up a 550lb keel right through the bottom of the boat if you're not careful.. Regarding that, it's good to know about how many turns of the winch it takes to raise the keel so that when you get close, you slow down. Mine is about 23 1/2 turns from full down to up.
