I made the run from Cape May to Atlantic City a bit early to take advantage of good weather. I'm now facing most of a week here waiting for crew. I'm not a gambling man (with money anyway) so I'm thinking about some side trips. Hopefully one will get me closer to a supermarket.

Is it currently possible to into Brigantine with 4'-3" draft? The chart shows a 3 foot spot and a lot of these kind of places have shoaled up along the AICW.

It also looks like an interesting run down to Little Egg Harbor and even beyond if the channels haven't shoaled beyond the charts.

Mast is too high to go south.

We went into Brigantine last fall with a 5.5' draft. The charts aren't accurate here.
If you hug the marsh on your left going in you should find plenty of water.
There were a few stakes to mark the channel. Activecaptain.com is a good resource with recent reviews of this area.

Good going Roger. When the appropiate weather conditions show up before anticipated it is time to just hoist anchor. Although if you have to wait, I think Cape May is just much nicer than Atlantic City. It is amazing how the Casino industry has taken over the business community. Even Burger Kings and McDonalds are only found at Hotel Casinos. At least the Boardwalk remains. A couple of years ago we ran the Intra Coastal route from Atlantic City to Manasquan in an h34 with a 4' 3" draft and never grounded. Consider it as it was nice little trip.

You still in AC???? You can very easily get into St George's Cove in Brigantine. Once you get into the harbor, it will be just before Brigantine Bridge. The entrance is on the starboard side. We are in there regularly with our 4'11" draft and would go in with our 5'3" draft with no problems at all. It is a small channel but they keep it deep enough for sailboats to get in. I took a ride into there last week to see if the dredges caused any problems and was able to get in and out. The only issue you may have is that they are dredging in the area and it is possible that it could be blocked at any time.
