Hi, my boat had a porti-podi but since I am in the midst of a major overhaul, I figured I'd do the head as well. My question is rather basic I think: do the vented loops for the intake need to be vented outside of the cabin, that is with a vent sticking out of the deck? I know, its a basic question, but the book that came with the toilet doesn't mention it.

The vented loops SHOULD have air valves that only allow air INTO the line, nothing out. So there should be no need to put a vent line on 'em. Be sure to note in the instructions where the vented loop in the intake goes. What size is your boat?

The boat is a Northern 25, which I am rebuilding. I have discovered something though, the fibreglass hull seems to keep water out, but I end up pouring all of my money in there too. Funny how that works.
