New Hunter22 web site / online community

Hi everyone,

After finding very few resources on the internet for the Hunter 22, I've decided to build a community web site devoted to it specifically.

I would like to open the floor for a discussion of what features any Hunter 22 owners may wish for the site to have.

Right now, I am planning these:
1. comprehensive specifications page
2. Hunter 22 sailboat review page
3. discussion forum for owners & friends
4. known strengths & weaknesses page
5. comparison with the Catalina 22

I have thought about adding these features also, but I don't know if there would be enough demand to make it worth the time:
1. For sale section
2. Map of members/owners
3. Calendar for posting/hosting events like races & cruises.

If any of you would like visit the site or give me any input about it, I would sincerely appreciate it. I know that there aren't that many H22 owners out there, so it would be nice if there were one place where we could congregate online and share our ideas and experiences with the boat. It's not that I want to reinvent the wheel. For instance, I know that there is a lot of information for H22 owners on this site. However it is often buried in discussions amid talk of other boats.

Very Nice Kristopher!

As a former H22 owner, I like the idea of a site dedicated to this super boat. One note, you have a link to a document called something like "Color Manual" I'd consider relabeling it as Color Brochure unless you intend to add the owners manual to that link.

Just some personal opinions; I'd leave off the map but maybe consider a Gear for Sale section dedicated to the 22. I know a lot of stuff - hardware, lines, etc. is generic but things like sails, interior items, spars and spar hardware could be unique.

I think you have a great list of topics. I would encourage you to include the for sale section as well as the map of owners. I am to far away to benefit from an events topic, but think others might find it interesting.

Hey Kris,

I only just now discovered your email laying out your idea for Hunter 22 network.

About a month or so ago I was pleasantly surprised to discover it So much so that in fact I put a post up here about it to alert others. I totally agree with you about how great a boat the 22 is and figured somebody else thought so as well but nobody responded over here and I just checked over there again and still the only 2 comments are your's and mine!!!

I don't get it but it was a good idea and appreciated.

I signed up and posted on the site and asked for a reply so I could buy the bushing and pin you prominently show on the page. This was June 9th. I've no answer and their don't appear to be any posts after mine.
