Hi all: Has anyone seen the New Hunter 41, is it even out yet, and, what's the difference ( other than hull design) between it, and the 410. I heard, but cannot remember where, that they will be having introductory pricing. (Hunter web site has specs, but not a current picture or pricing) Thanks for any help ........... Jeff

Why do you ask?

Let's go to Annapolis and see it. I asked at Harbor North if they would bring in any of the new ones for the Cedar Point show. They said no, they will show the same boats that are in front of the Rack shed. I read somewhere that the H41 is a rebadged H386 with some minor interior changes.

Price

I read in Sept. "Sail" magazine that it will have an "intro.,base price, FOB Alachua,Fl." of $165,990. It's in an article about new boats for '04. Not much detail.

Saw it

Had the opportunity to see the H41 a couple of weeks back at Sailing Specialties. It follows the path of the new hull designs from Glenn Henderson. Carries it's beam all the wayyyyy back to the transom. Huge cockpit locker, inner spring mattresses in both cabins, generous (huge) interior space. Understand that Hunter has re-badged the 356 to be the 36 and the 426 has become the 44. Guess it's back to 2-digit model numbers.

Saw it befor and after it was grounded!

The 41 is a new boat in the same design of the 356 and 426. It is like a "426 lite" Very nice boat and seems to fill the gap between the 356 and the 426. The before and after was interesting. The boat was at Sailing Specialties as part part of the dealers conference. So was the 36 and 44. All of these boats were avalible for some sailing time for the dealers. The day I was leaving the 41 was in a sling with the rudder destroyed and the keel flattened in the front. Seems this crew must be used to line of site crusing and not used to our rocks in Fishers Island sound. A new keel and rudder was on the way from Hunter to get this boat back into one piece for the Newport show!!!!!! Good looking boat though.

I have one on order...

...and saw it being built last week at the Hunter factory in Alachua, Florida. They gave my wife and I a great tour and we saw several new 41's at various stages of production on the assembly line. On our boat, the hull was finished and they were getting ready to install the interior, then the engine and generator. The technician who gave us the tour spoke very highly about this boat. Seems to be a lot of boat for the money with a lot of nice, new features. Hunter has developed a reputation for value, style and innovation and this model is a good example of that. My boat (hull #19) will be delivered to my dealer in Miami Beach at the end of September. For those of you in the northeast, you can see one at the NY/NJ Sail Expo, Liberty Landing Marina, New York Harbor, September 25-28. The base price is $165,990 plus freight, commissioning and options.
