Hunter is announcing today the new Hunter 15 and 18 daysailors.
Attached you will find two photos of the Hunter 18 currently sitting here.

The Hunter 18 is built out of fiberglass with molded in non skid for the flooring and seats. The hull is a new designed hull for improved stability and speed. Roller furling with a suncover, mainsail with slides and jiffy reefing, kick up centerboard and rudder, tiller extension and boom vang are standard features.

The mast is new from Selden and anyone will be able to lift the mast. Launching and sail handling is simple and easy along with the rest handled by one person.

You will be pleasantly surprised and enjoy the new daysailors that are coming out. As always, I will always encourage anyone to work with the local dealer.

I will be coming out of retirement to help answer questions for the smaller boats. I will ask that you limit your questions to serious ones as I have a buisness to run. As always, I am CRAZY DAVE CONDON of Anywhere USA and darn proud to be an American citizen.

My new Hunter 15 arrives in Fremantle, Western Australia next week or so. I wonder if the new 15 will have some of the differences that the new 18 seems to have over the 170? Do you have any photos of the 15? All the photos of the 15 on the Hunter web site seems to be photoshopped versions of the ones they used on the 146 page.

The hunter website shows a tube protruding from the bow aft, and a red line through it to a cleat. It doesn't show in your picture. What is it for?

Lokiii, you're a dufus, it's for the spin, if you would look at the other pics. Stop cluttering our board with your stupid questions.

Re New Hunter 15 - It arrived on Monday and I can tell everyone that it's a twin to the H146. Can't see any difference from the all the photos I seen of these boats.
Oh what fun I have had swapping the US coupling over to a AUS trailer coupling, not! My new cars' hitch seem to have a lot of extra metal around the base of the ball that stops the tongue from moving forward enough to allow the coupling to drop down over the ball. This must be a recent and common problem as when I was at a boat dealer today I noticed that they implemented the same solution that I am going for. I'm welding a plate on the end of the tongue to extend the coupling forward. Isn't it amazing how seeming simple tasks are so complicated some times?

Welcome Back Dave

How about the placement of those port/starboard rail cleats(yeouch). Those'll leave a ding where it counts on a windy day. Otherwise a seemingly nice upgrade from the past product.

What's it cost and whats the weight? If it's not too portly they should consider a high perf rig option and you may have a really versatile boat for the new sailor that becomes an adrenaline junkie and wants to get some high wind experience w/o selling the boat. Options do sell.......;)

PS almost forgot, welcome back Dave. Your insightful angles and product knowledge are always a benefit. Don't be a stranger.
