The last three weeks we've been driving ourselves crazy trying to trace down water in our H33 bilge. At first it was brownish and a little salty. Sponged it outabout two gallons. Next week no water found. next week water, sponged out. Two days later water, but clear.
Friday and Sat. slept aboard, and I noticed that the water pump was cycling about every 5 min. or so. We checked the hose fitting in the galley, the head, and under the seating. Not a drop.
Went to see if the shaft fittings had water, no but noticed that water was drooling down from the back of the cockpit.
It was the outside shower head, the little fittinf inside that turns on the spray had given up its attempt to turn off the flow. What had happened someone had taken a shower but didn't turn off the taps. :cussing:the constant pressure had finaly made the shower head give up.
The reason we had trouble finding the leaks was that it only happened when there was water pressure.
