Much better Phil

Still a little large for my taste (yes I too have the bifocals) on my 17" monitor, but I guess if it's suits the majority I won't complain. I do not want to play with the view size. There are 3 of us using this screen regularly, and we keep it on medium which satisfies everybody here. Thanks for the good work.

This is toooooo much! Is the font style so damn important for so many of you folks to complain about? How many city newspapers would listen to such dribble? Especially if the complaint is titled "Gawd, this font sucks"? I can read in any font!

Mike, I you did not see the font yesterday, your post is in ignorance! Phil has changed the font 3 times since yesterday. r.w.landau

Of what's available on the Internet for forums,

threads and listserves, this is site is heads and shoulders above the rest. It's quick and easy to peruse all articles and replies. The archives are easily searchable. The different forums help separate all the articles by like-type. The photo section is worth millions of words. Need I go on? Keep up the good work, Phil. The font thing seems to be working fine, at least on my 'puter.

Let reason prevail!!

Phil, Haven't been on-line for a few days because that damned bonzi buddy monkied up my computer... Was surprised at the font change, but not unpleasantly. It seems to give me a little elbow room when I read. Bottom line for me is the quality of the forum, the knowledge and willingness of all involved with it to help others, and the freedom to express opinions which at times are disagreable. Just "Ask All Sailors" about that last one:) Tom

priorities

it seems to me with all issues facing both sailors and the marine enviroment the time would be better served addressing those issues rather than climbing all over Phil because he changed the font. Let's prioritze what is really important and spend the energy on that!

Phil, I hope they pay you one "Hell of a lot

of money" to manage this web site. The amount of abuse you're getting for making this site useable for all online people is beyond belief. I guess it lets you know who's important and what you must do to please this clientele. I am very impressed with what you have done and made this site into. But since I don't pay dues, I would guess you don't get paid either. Change is always threatening to someone, I just fail to see what is threatening here. Thank You, Ray

Mouse with wheel

Here is a little trick that maybe some of you folks don't know. If using a mouse with a wheel (between the left and right click buttons), you can hold down the Ctrl key and rotate the wheel. This causes Windows to make the font larger or smaller. Ken Palmer, S/V Liberty http://www.LakeOntarioSailing.com

I have seen most of the changes. I still am convinced the complaints about font style are ridiculous and childish. Go tell The New York Times their font sucks and see how important it really is.

The horse is dead -- stop beating it.

The "big print" fonts that some fellow sailors were critiquing have long since been changed. Looking at them now is missing the tempest that stirred this pot. BTW, if the New York Times changed its typeface, I am certain it would garner both praise and protest, as pretty much happened here. Let's move on.

I like, I like

especially if you have a newer, larger monitor capable of higher resolutions. It's great! Rob
