Yet one more reason to register for the forums. :) When you see an author's name displayed as a link it means that some degree of profile info is available. In some cases it's just forum profile and posting history, but in other cases it also links to the owner directory and any submitted boat reviews. If you have an unattached owner directory entry it can be linked easily. Same is true with boat reviews. Soon we hope to link up photos, too. I found this to be a lot of fun while I was testing it! As always, let me know if you find bugs. Please email bugs using the link at the top of the screen or send 'em to phil at sailboatowners.com.

THIS is what I have been waiting for

THis is exactly what this forum needed. To be able to know more info about people that post or reply. It puts their posts and replies in perspective. Actually, the only reason I'm replying is to see how my profile looks. THANKS AGAIN !!!!!! Tony B

PHIL !!!!!

I just realized that the info that you linked to was in CATALINAOWNERS.COM "Owners Directory". Can you link me to my new "owners directory" in sailboatowners.com?. ALSO.....please dont wipe out info in catalinaowners.com on the outside chance that someone who buys it in the future can look me up. Thank again. Tony B

Tony: you're now linked to your SBO entry. Princess: First, you need to register here in the forums. Then, make sure you are logged in and go to the Owner Directory and create a profile there. The profile info is pulled from the Owner Directory.

Question about new feature

Are there two profiles online somewhere? When I open my Profile on Hunterowners web site, it has a user name of "Marybeth & Rip" but when I add questions to the forum the user name just comes up as "Rip". (I add Marybeth manually) Is there a second place to update the Profile? Also, is there something that explains the relationship of the HunterOwners web site to "Sailboatowners" web site. Sorry to be obtuse but I don't get on here that much but I do review the new posts almost every day. Great site. I have received so much useful info that I will never be able to repay it. Last, what did the previous poster mean about the Catalinaowners site being bought? Is Catalinaowners spliting from Sailboatowners? Thanks

MaryBeth

Sorry for the confusion, but I was refering to the Catalina 30 as being being bought, not the site. It's my Brooklyn accent, sorry. LOL

Step by step for us idiots

When you say "register here in forum" I can not find the location to do it, or maybe I am register and I don't understand the terminology. Due to my computer limitations I have to be told step by step. What do I specifically click on to register and develop the profile?

To register for the forums

Go to the top of this screen and look for the link that says "Register / Login." Click that, then click the Regsiter now link on the subsequent screen. Once you've done that, go to the tab in our navgiation (waaay up at the top of each screen) and click Owner Directory. Then scroll to the bottom and click the link that says "Add your name."

How to connect forum profile to Owner Dir.

Find one of your own posts. Click on your name. On the left you'll see a link that says "Create or connect an owner profile" Click that, then login with your forum email address/password. You'll see a list of people in the directory with names like yours. Click the one that is you. That's all there is to it.
