new dodger

Can someone give me some idea what it might cost to have a new
dodger made for our Vega? I've gotten one price from a well recommended
canvas guy and I would like to make sure he is in the ballpark.
Thanks to everyone,

In the UK we charge about £485 including brand new stainless steel (316)
frames. Quite a few in the US have bought them from us as they turn out
a lot cheaper. All handmade to a very, very high standard. All made
lovingly by Diana Webb (VAGB Secretary). Postage to the US is about £55

We call them Sprayhoods in the UK.

Cheers

Got mine about 3 years ago, installed it (easy and a perfect fit) and it's been up since then, winter and summer. It looks as good as the day I installed it.

Hi,
my Vega is yellow and so is the sprayhood/dodger.

Perhaps because of the colour it has a micro-climate in summer - air
inside gets quite hot and so attracts small flies aetc which in turn
attracts spiders to eat them.

Obviously I can drop the sprayhood - just wondered whether anyone else
had this problem.

Hi John. Any color other than white absorbs heat. We wanted to be "seen at
sea" so also went with yellow canvas. We did leave the deck and hull white.
Our problem on our Mexico cruise was attracting bees. I guess the yellow
made us look like a large flower. We would be as much as 3 miles offshore
and still have them flying out to us. Somewhat disconcerting when you have a
history of severe allegic reaction to bee stings. We did a lot of swatting!

Yes, I can do that...as soon as I get to the boat. Supposed to snow here in the next couple days. I'll do it by the weekend.

Just read an article in today's newspaper; yellow is the color that attracts Bee's more than any other...normally not a problem here on Long Island.

So I can replace my mechanical one with an electrical one?
That sounds nice! How much is it?

Wasn't there someone a few posts back asking for a fuel gauge?

The Bränslemätare is a fuel gauge , and the elektrisk bränslegivare, lättmonterad is an easily mounted electric fuel sensor. Of course this is just my best educated guess !!! .

Hi all Irish Vega Owners

One of the Irish Vega owners want to sort out a get-together in
Baltimore (Ireland) during Calves Week. Please let me know if anyone is
interested so I can pass your details on to him. His name is Don
Boadella and his Vega is "Ibis" V1715 (I think)

Cheers all
