8’ Mercury air deck with Honda 2hp. No planing..Getting ready to go electric..

I have a mercury air deck 240 which is 7'3" that weighs 69 lb with a Honda 2.3 hp. Does not plane even with just me aboard although if I used a tiller extension, sat all the way aft and cranked it up I suppose it might be possible to plane.

2hp just doesn't have to power to plane. Will push you around fine and is a lot better then rowing. Most likely going to need 5hp or more to plane.
