Hi all,
Before I go tearing things apart again, so that I might "fix" a problem, I thought it might be a good idea to ask first.
I am changing out my standard vinyl engine control handles to the shiny stainless type. The new throttle handle is fine but, the new shifter handle does not have enough forward throw to engage forward gear. It is stopped by the vertical part of the pedestal rail and does not move forward enough, as does the vinyl handle which is shorter, to engage forward gear.
I am hoping that this is resolved by adjusting the cable length at the control handle end in the pedestal??? From previous experience, I know that the handle shaft and extension arm are one piece and the only adjustments that can be made are at the cable ends.
Any suggestions?
Thanks all and Happy Sailing
