On my Lake Erie weather buoy site, http://www.ndbc.noaa.gov/station_page.phtml?station=45005 , I saw a note about a new NDBC buoy on Cape Cod. It will be fun to compare Erie conditions with the Atlantic. Pretty quiet there right now. See Related Link.

It's a long way from shore....

Ed, The new buoy location is way, way east of Nantucket, hardly a coastal location, and not visited by many sailors! Take a look at http://www.ndbc.noaa.gov/Maps/Northeast.shtml The Buzzards Bay buoy, or some of the other coastal buoys may be of more interest. Regardless - it's looking like a great weekend in the Northeast, and we're heading for Cuttyhunk over that way tonight. Derek

Try BUZM3 Buzzards Bay entance tower if you would like to get a comparison or MA and RI coastal conditions. The new buoy is out past Nantucket shoals a long way from shore. Len Fagan

Video cameras?

Are there cameras in the Cape Cod area? I can check lake conditions before I make the one hour drive from here at work. See Huron on the Related Link.

Live video from Newport , RI

Here's a link to live video from Newport RI. Usually somebody else is running the camera, but you can control it - if you want to wait long enough! http://www.livewave.com/demo/index.jsp?camera=9
