I need some help from my fellow 25.5er's. I would like to give my boat some new canvas(mainsail cover, winch covers, and tiller cover) but I am having a hard time with the sizes. Does anyone know the make and size of the two self-tailing winches that came standard on the 1985 25.5? Also the size of the small halyard winch? I was looking at the chandlery on this web site and of all the boats they have listed, they don't have the 25.5 as one of the standards that they make mainsail covers for. Does anyone know for certain if one of the other models will fit the 25.5? Thank you all for your help(Dick should know the answers to these questions since he is our resident expert....the pressure is on)

That means you can save some money

If it's not listed it means we don't have a pattern. But if you're willing to do some measuing we'll happily make you a good deal on the sail cover.

Mainsail cover and winch specs

John, I have a West Marine mainsail cover and winch covers on my 25.5. I don't know what the model number of the cover is but I can check next time I head over to the boat. Specs on the winches according to my survery report... the main winches are Maxwell 17 Self Tailing Winches and the small halyard winch is a Maxwell 14 windch.

Covers

Hey John, Sorry I arrived late, had a little bout with pneumonia. :( I'm not an expert but I did stay at a Holiday Inn Express! :D Anthony is correct about the winch sizes but I got my replacements from JSI; $8.50 for their small One-Size for the halyard winches and $12.50 for Medium for the sheet winches. I also got a new tiller cover from JSI for $25. You can also buy generic from West. The 23.5 mainsail cover should fit just right. The E at 10' is the same and mainsail size very close so at $175 in the HOW store isn't a bad price. JSI charges by the foot....$16 per in my last catalog, so adding another foot to the E to account for the mast and you come out about the same. HTH Dick Vance H-25.5 "Honey Bear"
