Check these out. Ugly as hell, but might be nice for the warmer climates. Im thinking about these for my next bareboat to the Grenadines. Bob.

heh, heh....

...came across a "married, with children" episode while channel surfing yesterday... Al Bundy talks to god and is compelled to design and build a pair of shoes that will change the world... ala Noah. Interestingly enough, the final product resembles the shoe in your ad... although Al's were designed with the socks sewn into the shoe itself. That would be the "dress" version, I guess, where these are for outdoors. As Rodney Daingerfield would say, "they might look good on you" but.... I think they're pretty ridiculous.

Looks like you'll have gorilla scuffs on the deck!

Toe stubbin fun

That piece of rubber in front of regular sneakers really cushions what could be a nice brisk toe stub. This reminds me of the "optigrab" glasses with a handle in between the lenses, made steve martin rich in the jerk.

I would get them for ...

windsurfing or kite sailing. Jumping off your board onto a sharp shell or a piece of glass is no fun in bare feet and these look like a better alternative than the water shoes that I use. I think they would look kind of ridiclous on a boat, though, and I think they may be a big hassle when you want to take them off. But if there is nobody around to laugh at you ... :) Actually, we saw those in a shop on our lake this summer and I wanted to buy a pair for my son because he was going on a kayak trip in Oregon. He laughed at me and didn't want to have anything to do with them. He suggested that there could be something else that I could buy for him instead. I think I'm still going to get a pair for winsurfing, though. I like them.

LL Beans

I think I saw something similar in LL Bean's store. Looks like they might be a pain in the butt to take off.

Believe it or not

Crocs are AMAZING boat shoes. They stick like glue even to the slick hatch covers when wet. I've never had a better sticking pair of shoes. Wish my regular boat shoes worked that well.

Crocs

I bought a pair of croc flip flops and hate them. They are like ice on wet, smooth surfaces such as wood. In only 2 months the tread is wearing off off the soles.
