I'm new to N.B. any sailors out there familiar with this area? I'm moored just south of Pope's Island. I'm looking for public access for a dinghy on or near Pope's Island. Launching on the rocks off Popes' is rather difficult! Any info. appreciated, thanks. Mark

Mark, I believe were in the same mooring field. I launch from the Fairhaven boat ramp. It's right there on the Fairhaven side of the mooring field. It's a decent ramp that you can launch from at any tide level. It's also were I have my boat hauled from in the spring. I'm on PIM 91. My boat is a Hunter 25.5. Tan hull with a brown sail cover.

Are you Scott Satur with the boat Saturdaze? If thats you, you're practically right next to me. I'm the old Cherubini Hunter, hull color blue. I just spent a year and a half restoring the vessel. Drop by and say hello sometime, don't be a stranger and thanks for the advice, oh by the way how would I get to that spot? Your help is greatly appreciated, thanks. Mark

Fairhaven Ramp

It's very easy to get to the boat ramp. If your coming from the east, you take a left at the set of lights just before the Rt 6 swing bridge. There's a hotel at the corner that has a Cajun resturant in it. Then you go down about 3 blocks and it'll be on the right hand side. The ramp is just past the Coast Guard Auxillary blding. And yes that is my boat "Saturdaze". You should be able to spot your boat from the Ramp.
