As lovely as the waters around the Bahamas are, I've been over dealing with their bureaucracy for quite some time now. There's just so many wonderful places where one doesn't have to jump through so many hoops (and pay so much money to be treated so poorly by the officials) to enjoy the country.

Capta, never heard it explained so clearly. But it also varies from time to time; when they need the tourism they drop the hoops, lower the fees and treat you with a smile but then when things are good they don't want you anymore. If we don't like their current regs just wait a while and they will again change.

Benny, that's been my experience as well, but you'd think this
would be one of those "We need you now" times for them...
