I did it. :) Purchased a 27'LE. Very excited. We will be keeping the boat in the back yard lagoon/canal and will be doing overnights on the Barnegat Bay, NJ and mostly day sailing etc. What is a real good anchor for this size and weight boat? I am getting sticker shock  looking at the Spade anchors. Now I know why they say Boat stands for Bring On Another Thousand. LOL
So many questions, so many things. Oh well start w/ this one.
Thanks to all.

John,
My friend Walter gave me a Fortress anchor that came off his 24' Chris Craft and I really like that anchor. It's a Danforth type anchor made of Aluminum and it's light for it's size. It fits my anchor roller real nice and it's easy to raise and lower. If you plan on doing a lot of anchoring, I think that this anchor will serve you well. It has, me.

John,

Congrats on the 272LE! That's the model I started out with, and she treated me well for 6 seasons. I'm not 100% certain, but I can't imagine the Danforth anchor on my LE was more than 15 lbs. I too was a Barnegat Bay sailor (out of Forked River), so the Danforth was just fine for the bottom conditions there.

Best of luck with the boat.

Pete
